School Mission Statement:
The overarching aim of the Women in Aerospace and Technology Program is to address the technology gender gap in American industry. The program pairs our regional aerospace industry and local universities with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania to provide enriching experiences for young women. University student mentors, under the tutelage of local educational mentors collaborate and regional corporate leaders, emphasize unbounded future technology career opportunities for young girls and present a guided path for young women into these professions.
The Women in Aerospace & Technology Program (WATP) strives to encourage young girls to take part in STEM education through hands-on demonstrations on Saturdays throughout the school year. Programs include robotics, environment, aerospace, astronomy, energy, and chemistry. Next year programs in mechanical engineering and entrepreneurship are planned.
